The Sustainability Leader is required to assist the Sustainability Manager in the development and implementation of Seifert Systems’ group-wide sustainability strategy. The role further includes responsibility for ensuring compliance with various local and international certifications and legislation.
It is expected that the Sustainability Leader takes an active role in the product development process, industrialisation, and production to instil the strategy in the company culture and its product portfolio, ensuring that business is conducted in an environmentally, socially, and economically responsible way.
Main responsibilities include:
- Completing sustainability plans and collaborating with other departments to develop company-wide sustainability initiatives.
- Conducting site assessments and producing reports on findings and making recommendations for improvement.
- Conducting renewable energy assessments.
- Driving implementation of the latest low or zero-carbon technologies.
- Communicating plans to project teams and senior staff.
- Coordinate internal audit programs and compile the necessary Environmental Management system reporting as required with the latest ISO14001 standard.
- Maintain Environmental policies and procedures, including recycling programs, alternative energy use, and water conservation efforts.
- Monitoring environmental impacts of company operations and implementing improvements.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations by working with government agencies, non-profit organisations, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators as set with the Sustainability manager and monitor their progress towards goals such as greenhouse gas emissions reduction or water conservation goals.
- Developing strategies to reduce waste production and increase recycling rates within the organisation.
